Entertainment in Oceanside New York

Oceanside is a quiet, amiable town, located on the south shore of Long Island NY, nestled between the city of Long Beach, and the village of Rockville Centre. This affluent neighborhood enjoys the entertainment benefits of being situated between two such heavily visited areas, without having the aggravation that comes along with living in a tourist destination. This has created a community with quiet residential sensibilities, but a fun loving spirit.

One of Oceanside’s greatest attractions is its wide variety of fine dining choices. Various niche cuisines include two Pitaria’s, The Shish Kabob and Deanellies, a Greek Restaurant called Taste of Greece, A Mexican restaurant called Moe’s, and even an American eatery known as Roasty’s. There are also 23 places which will deliver your food right to your front door including several Delis, and Seafood Markets.

For fine dining there is the Seven Brothers Italian Gourmet, and La Parma’s family style restaurant, where the portions are so big you have to share. Others swear by the simple grille fare of J Paul’s bar and grille. With such a wide variety of choices the best food in Oceanside is really a matter of opinion.

As far as amenities Oceanside boasts a public swimming pool, a number of golf courses/country clubs, and an expansive public library. However the most attractive aspect of Oceanside may be its location. Just ten minutes from the beach on one side, and five minutes from Rockville Centre; a major restaurant and night club location, on the other, as well as a short 50 minute ride on the LIRR to Manhattan, this town is in the literal centre of a whirlwind of activity. However this does not disrupt the gentle peace of the neighborhood’s demeanor. Oceanside is at its core a family community; a quiet, clean, friendly place, whose wild side is often exported to parties in surrounding areas.

A natural dichotomy, Oceanside has found equilibrium as the gentle counterpart to the vigor of surrounding communities. An affluent place, with fine dining, amenities, and a central location in Long Island New York, it may not be the most exciting place to visit, but you probably wouldn’t mind living there.
